Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for joining the freshly renamed Eli Manning Fan Club Fantasy Basketball League. We are currently in the midst of week 6 so lets take a look at the current standings and how everyone is doing so far this season. As seen below, AYO River!! had first pick and holds first place, with the two time champ right behind him. The Swedish baller is right behind them in 3rd. The rest of us jostle for position behind them.

1. AYO River!! currently holds a 2.5 point lead over second place after a rough week 5. His top performer so far is unsurprisingly his first overall pick, Nikola Jokic. 22.7 pts .6 treys, 9.5 rebs, 9 rebs 1.3 stls and .6 blks on 62% fg and 85% ft. The big man is providing 1st round value and will continue to do so. Jokic is being supported by Desmond Bane and Lauri Markkanen - both providing 3rd round value. Markkanen was taken in the 8th round so this is great value, putting up career bests everywhere. Kawhi has been the biggest disappointment so far. Maybe he can stay on the court long enough to make an impact for AYO.
2. The Two Time is holding onto 2nd place with a 1 game lead over the 3rd place squad. The back-to-back champ is coming off a big week 5 win 7-1-1. So far, the second place team has largely been supported by the young stud in Indiana - Tyrese Haliburton. The former Sacramento King draft pick is averaging 19.8 pts, 2.8 treys, 4.4 rebs, the only player avging double digit assists 10.9 and 1.7 steals good for 1st round value. The Two Time has also been able to rely on Towns (2nd round value) and the extraordinary Knick's guard Jalen Brunson (3rd round value). Most of The Two Time's players are playing at their expected value, but it'd be nice to see Keegan Murray get a little more comfortable on the Kings and start averaging over 30 minutes per game.
3. A Slice Called Quest is in 3rd place, however they have the same record as the 4th place team. The Pissman's Mustard lover has gotten a lot of production out of his big boy Anthony Davis who is currently the second best player overall this season. He's averaging 26 pts, 12.6 rebs, 2.4 ast, 1.7 stls, 2.1 blks on 56% fg and 83% ft. Rudy Gobert and Chris Paul (when healthy) have been contributing 4th round value. Giddey is probably the biggest disappointment so far, providing 15th round value, but he should be able to turn it around soon.
4. Ballmer's Big Ballers shares the same record as the third place team after their recent 4-5 loss. BBB has a nice distribution of players providing better than 10th round value, with Jimmy Butler leading the way just sitting outside first round value at 13th overall player so far. Butler is averaging 20.9 pts, 6.6 rebs, 6.1 ast, 1.8 stls on 48% fg. Wiggins is his second best player currently also providing second round value and the Fresno State great Paul George with 3rd round value. McCollum, Lillard and DSJ are giving 5th round value. Most disappointing is probably LaVine (8th rnd value) so far, but he should be able to get back on track soon.
5. Consider the Giants is maintaining 5th place after an odd 5-2-2 win in week 5. The commish's top ranked player so far is a player he just acquired in a trade - Shai Gilgeous Alexander who is putting up 1st round value and 3rd best player so far. However his first round pick, Kevin Durant has been his season-long best player with 28.8 pts, 1.4 treys, 6.5 rebs, 5.3 ast, 1.8 blks on 53% fg and 92% ft. The commish has 3 players returning 1st round value with Donovan Mitchell also playing great for his new Cleveland team. The commish traded Bam and Simons for SGA, time will tell if it works out for the best. Julius Randle has been his most disappointing players only returning 10th round value after the commish reached on him early in the draft. He's a sucker for those Knicks.
6. Jaspreet's Optimal Team besides having the most non-generic team name, JOT also has control of 6th place after a nice 6-3 win. Tatum has been his best player and 4th best player overall with 30.7 pts, 3.3 treys, 7.7 rebs, 4.5 ast, 1.4 blks on 47% fg and 87% ft. JOT also has a nice core of guys all returning 2nd round value: Brook Lopez, Dejounte Murray, Mikal Bridges, and OG Anunoby. Klay and Jamal Murray have to be the biggest disappointments so far, with both guys sitting outside of the top 140. They're too good to play this bad, right?
7. RimmyTintTin after missing the draft, RTT clings to 7th place after a week five 4-5 loss. His best player so far is just barely Myles Turner returning 1st round value with 18.6 pts, 1.6 treys, 8.4 rebs, 2.8 blks on 55% fg and 84% ft. Embiid is right behind Turner with 1st round value and Fred VanVleet is also posting some nice 2nd round value. Most disappointing so far is probably Nurkic returning 8th round value. He should be more in the 5th or 6th round value conversation.
8. WE ARE YOUR FRANZ is settling for 8th place after a 4-5 loss in week 5. Currently sitting 6 games out of first, WAYF is relying heavily on Devin Booker averaging 27 pts, 2.4 treys, 4.8 rebs, 5.8 ast, and almost 1 steal per game - good for second round value. Harden would probably be his best player if he wasn't injured. WAYF has also seen some nice production from Beal and DeRozan, both returning 3rd round value. Poole has been disappointing so far, as he sits outside the top 150 players. John Wall also, the Clipper bias blinds you. Hopefully both guys can start playing better.
9. Ayton of CunningHam is just 7 games outside of 1st place after a nice 5-4 win, and has plenty of time to gain ground. He recently traded his top player SGA for some depth acquiring Bam and Simons. So far his best player has been his overall first pick, the nearly Sacramento King, Luka Doncic. The 6th best player so far, Doncic is averaging 34 points, 2.3 treys, 9 rebs, 8.1 ast, 1.8 stls on 50% fg but just 75% ft. JJJ is currently listed as his second best player, but with only 3 games played he is not considered. Simons and Bam are next up for AoC, both providing 5th round value. Zion has been a bit underwhelming, but hopefully will start getting back into top-50 form. RJ Barrett providing solid 21st round value, what a joke. The only category he is slightly above average in is points. Good investment Knicks.
10. lol horford is hanging around 10th place after a 2-5-2 loss in week five. His top player so far this season is the stud from Sacramento De'Aaron Fox (2nd rnd value) averaging 25 points, 2 treys, 5 rebs, 6.3 ast, 1.2 steals on 54% fg. Fox is showing some real leadership on the 3rd place Kings. His team is also buoyed by 3rd round value Jaylen Brown and 6th round value Trae Young. Disappointing so far has been Collin Sexton, you'd think he'd be playing better with the rebuild in Utah, only 22 minutes per game come on coach. Mitchell Robinson please stay health bro.
11. Hard Wood Herros woof 11th place is cool after winning 5-4 last week. His first round pick is currently the best player in fantasy, Stephen Curry is averaging 31.6 points, 5.2 treys, 6.6 rebs, 7.2 ast, 1.1 stl, 52% fg and 90% ft. Unfortunately, Curry is supported by 4th round value LeBron and 5th round value Vucevic. HWH actually has 9 guys in the top 120 but for some reason it's not clicking. Rozier and Wood have been a bit of a disappoint so far this year, both outside the top 130. Maybe he'll make a trade soon.
12. In-Season Sabbatical The resident cellar dwellar is trolling around his dungeon only 14.5 games out of first. Plenty of time, no worries. His elite squad is led by 4th round value Ja Morant, the most exciting player in basketball is averaging 28.9 pts, 1.9 treys, 6.3 rebs, 7 ast, 1.1 stl and 47% fg. Clint Capela is chipping in with 4th round value also and De'Anthony Melton at 5th round value. Anthony Edwards has been disappointing so far producing 7th round value and Giannis at 11th round value. What is this bizarro world? They should start clicking soon, hopefully, right?
I hope you ate a lot of food and considered the Knicks and the 3rd place Kings wow.
